You Just Never Know

Well. You just never know what some "charitable" organizations are doing with your hard-earned money.

We all, well most of us, want to help others.  I think that's hardwired into our nature.  When I see folks using their time and resources to collect donations for underprivileged folks or for veterans and other charities, I want to help and I often do toss in some change or a buck or two.

These charities need money to help others and for their operating costs.  My father passed away from Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS) and the ALS Association is one that I support from time to time.

But after seeing the figures below, I can't help but wonder, "Can anybody be trusted in the "Help Others" Industry?"

Now I am NOT saying that the ALS Association may be wasting money because I believe that they are a very reputable organization and they are on a mission to eradicate this awful disease.  If you've ever lost a loved-one to ALS, then you know how devastating it is for the one suffering and for the family and how important their work is.  The ALS Association does need support and deservingly so.

But...as you open your pockets for others, please keep these facts in mind:

The American Red Cross President and CEO Gail J. McGovern has a salary of $995,718.

The United Way President Brian Gallagher receives a $494,582 base salary. 419,832

UNICEF CEO Caryl M. Stern receives $419,832 per year.

The United Negro College Fund pays their President/CEO $1,129,249 per year because a bank account is a terrible thing to waste.

Yes, executives need to be compensated, but WOW!

Now, in stark contrast to the above mentioned wasters of the almighty dollar, take a look at what these folks pay their leader.

The Commissioner of the Salvation Army receives a salary of only $
79,389 which is a shared compensation with his wife, for managing this $2 billion dollar organization. 82 percent of donated dollars go to the cause.

The American Legion National Commander receives a $0.00 salary.

The Disabled American Veterans National Commander receives a $0.00 salary

The Military Order of Purple Hearts National Commander receives a $0.00 salary

The Vietnam Veterans Association National Commander receives a $0.00 salary

Please help out these Veteran organizations when and if you can.  Our donations go to help Veterans and their families.

A far cry from other charity org leaders, huh?

No further comment is really necessary.  I verified these tidbits at Charity Navigator and other reporting sites.  If I have misspoken, if any of this is untrue, please let me know and I will correct it; just comment with the correction and the source so I can check it out as well.

Please share this with everyone you can.

O's Gotta Go!

Obama Must Go.  We all know that.  Whether you're a Conservative, Liberal, Moderate, Libertarian, or whatever, you know O's gotta go.

O's gotta go.

Sounds good, sounds smooth.  I like the way it rolls off my tongue, especially when I go out into my backyard and scream it at the top of my lungs until my voice cracks.  "O'S GOTTA GO!!!!  O'S GOTTA GO!!!!"

I don't do that very often, it scares my hens.  And when my hens get scared then my roosters want to attack me.  That hurts.  I have scars.

It hurts to get stabbed with sharp objects like rooster spurs.

It also hurts to watch the news everyday and see how many more jobs we've lost, how much more embarrassing stuff this "President" has said, how many more zeroes have been added to the national debt, and even how many more idiots are getting involved in the "Occupy" movement or whatever it's called.  I understand, though; people are frustrated and they are fed up with the way things are right now, especially the economy.  But I have heard that many of the "Occupiers" have actually been paid to be there; and they don't even know why they're there.  Wonderful for them, but they are being used by people who despise them more than they could ever know.  Thus, the descriptive Idiot in reference to our dear occupiers.

Silly mess, silly and wasteful. It's actually a loss of manpower, effort, time, and resources.

And...speaking of losses:

Since the coronation of the High Holy Anointed One, we have seen a swift and increasingly speedy loss of a number of things in our Beloved Country.

We’ve lost jobs by the millions.

We’ve lost international respect due to his apathetic approach to global affairs.

We’ve lost hope.  Hope and change, yeah.

We’ve lost national pride.

But hey, look at what we’ve gained!  A national debt with more zeroes than ever before.  Wow!  Isn't that grand? Oh boy!

We've gained bankruptcies, foreclosures, and smeared reputations due to poor credit scores and the amount of time out of work.  Do you realize that some companies will not hire a person because they've been unemployed for a while?  My girlfriend told me that the other day.  How in the world is someone supposed to start over and get out of a mess?  I am somewhat distraught over that bit of informational tidbit.

Yes, we have lost quite a bit here in America the Beautiful, but all is not lost.  It’s not over yet.  There are too many people who love this country.  And her true, legitimate, freedom-endorsing citizens will not let her fade into the annals of history and be looked back upon as what once was.  We can, and we will, take back what is rightfully ours: the Government.  It is, after all, by the People and for the People.  We have to remember that; we have a responsibility to ourselves and our children.  It will be a hard road of recovery indeed; no doubt about that.  But it will be done.

After Obama and his administration is gone, we must erase his devil-may-care approach to executive management and his damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead advancement of socialism.  The aftertaste will be exceedingly bitter, but it will be after, after him, after his agenda, after his attempt to rip out the very fibers of the patriotic lash that holds this country together as the strongest nation on earth, the go-to-when-you-need-help-because-someone's-invading-your-country saviour! Uncle Same to the resuce!

We don't need a "Leader" who bows to other leaders.  Hey, Barack!  Cut it out!  You're not supposed to do that; you're the POTUS, Dude.  But he knew that was wrong.  The man's been doing everything in his power to undermine the reputation and integrity of the U.S. since he was elected.  Apologizing for America's misdeeds.  Shame on you, Barry.

In spite of this man and his Dirtycrat Party’s attempt to distort our values and flush away our core beliefs, we will survive and prosper again; maybe even better than before.  that's how we do it up in here.

We will once again be a symbol of pride and the very essence of freedom and liberty.  Man oh man, I love this country.  I really do.  Her land is vast, her resources rich, her beauty, though a little blemished, is still remarkable.

How will regain our prime status? How is this going to happen?  I mean there’s been so much damage; isn’t it too late?

Nope.

You gotta vote.  You must enact your right to choose    the one you really want to lead us into a prosperous and proud redefining future.

You gotta vote and, as the Republican ads are saying, "Change Direction"!

Supercommittee: EPIC FAIL

"Despite our inability to bridge the committee's significant differences, we end this process united in our belief that the nation's fiscal crisis must be addressed and that we cannot leave it for the next generation to solve," a statement from co-chairs of the committee read.

Really?  All the time...wasted?  All the money...wasted?  All the effort...wasted? Oh...wait.  Maybe there wasn't much effort.  OOOOHH!! But you don't understand politics!!  I do, however, understand this: something must be done about our national debt and our ginormous overspending federal government.  Something else I understand: YOU FAILED in your "attempt" to put forth a solution that would help our nation.  You failed.  Period.

A gathering of the best-of-the-best, a committee.  No, a SUPER committee.  This Supercommittee will come up with a solution.  Six on one side, six on the other.  Nope, didn't work.  I knew that it wouldn't.  Many others knew that it wouldn't work.  It was doomed from the start and designed to fail.

Shame on ALL of Washington political leaders, but most of all you, Mr. "President" are to blame.  All you do is blame others, never taking blame for your mishaps, misspeaks or anything else.

And, right on time, classic Obama rhetoric:

"There are still too many Republicans in Congress who have refused to listen to the voices of reason and compromise that are coming from outside of Washington," he said.  Crap, Barry!  How about a new line?

Sure, whatever you say, Barry.  I mean after all, you've been correct in absolutely everything you've said and done since you bull-crapped your way into the most respected office in the world.  In your campaign, you preyed on the desperate and discouraged, convincing them that you would do whatever it took to make things right again.  How's that working?  Good for you, huh?  Bad for America.

Even so, you continue with the same rhetoric now as you did then.  You couldn't wait for your little press conference so you could was philosophical on the real problem: unyielding Republicans.

The truth is this: Democrats refused to agree to any meaningful deficit reduction without $1 trillion in job-killing tax increases.  The Republican House has laid out a good plan; and that can be verified by the way.  "The president, except for his irresponsible budget and the Republican Senate, has done nothing to lay out a plan that can be analyzed by the American people," said Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., ranking Republican on the Senate Budget Committee.
The Republicans refused to agree to TAX INCREASES.  Sorry, Barry, that's a good thing.  Tax increases are the last thing this government needs to impose on the people right now.

What we need is a good old fashioned downsizing; starting with you.

That would be a good start.

The Burdens of an Overly Bloated Big Government

My goal in starting a Conservative-minded blog is to just simply voice my opinion in such a way that your everyday, middle class guy or gal can understand and relate to.  I’ll attempt to put it down that will, perhaps, cause my readers to say, “Yeah, that’s how I feel, that’s what I think about it.”  I’ll just write as I see fit and how I think about subjects.  Mainly, the burdens that the bloated Federal, State, County, and City Governments have place on We the People: our small businesses, and our large corporations, and our farms, and our children, and our pets, and our automobiles, and our rifles & pistols, and our marriages, and our parenting, and our light- bulb choices, and our Easy Bake ovens, and our private, home-based Bible studies with friends.  Wait…what? No, you made a typing error, C.D., not Bible studies.

Yes, Bible studies.

Here's a great article from The Blaze written by contributor .  She's terrific, I like her articles.  I'm ashamed of our “Leaders” for even considering that this should be penalized, let alone actually make it so.

That's a really good article, well written and informative.  But what I find even more interesting is the comments afterward.  Read them.

I see opinions like the ones in the comments expressed in print and online more and more lately, even on typically "mainstream" media outlets.  The reason?  I believe the Vast Majority of Americans are sick and tired of our Country being run into the ground by the minority.  That's right: the number of left-wing, socialist-leaning, Average Joe-hating, double-standard observing, Jihadist placaters in our land is in the minority.  There are less of "them" than there are of us.

From BigFurHat in an article posted on iOwntheWorld you can see another fine example of the burden we carry because of an overly bloated big government.

Hasbeen

The really sad thing is that "we" have made this possible.  "We" voted for them, "we" keep them in office, "we" allow them to make up so many, many different rules and regulations that even "they" lose track of them due to the sheer enormity of volume.  There are far too many rules and regulations; it just clogs up life.  You can't hardly get anything done anymore.

How do we change it?  We all know the answer:

Vote.

Vote for candidates that will rein in this insane out-of-control government spending by putting into action common-sense budget solutions that will control spending, cut the massive waste and insist on accountability to the People, instill real transparency, and reduce all government debt by working within the allotted revenues.

Actually doing the above mentioned is not at all difficult.  It is already being done by governors and other leaders in our nation and their constituents are actually seeing results in their communities.

Once again, thanks for reading.  Please take a moment to comment below and another to subscribe.  I could use the feedback and encouragement.  Your participation is appreciated and the sponsors here on the page could use a few click-throughs also.

Have a great day.

Happy Birthday, U.S. Constitution ...and Many More.

Today is the birthday of the U.S. Constitution.  On September 17, 1787 the U.S. Constitution was signed by 39 boldy heroic men.

Just read The Preamble to the Constitution of the United States:
"We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

What a phenomenal beginning to a document that has stood the test of time and has been the go-to model for so many countries that have chosen to take the path that our own country has taken.

It was forged in blood, argument, fortitude, fairness, compromise, love, and neccessity; and it's a good document, for a good nation and a good people.

And I do not care if you do not agree with me. If you do not like our Constitution, or this Great Nation, leave.  Get out, get lost, get *(;%$#!!!

You are not needed here.

Well, please forgive my brief tirade.  It's just that earlier today, I Googled for some commentaries on the Constitution, just to see what folks were saying since today was the anniversary of the signing of the document.  And what I so easily and readily found, even as easily as the links to government and institutional links to the Constitution's history and other information, was a good number of left-wing, socialist-leaning commentaries and articles bashing the Constitution and those that believe in it.  Good grief, don't Liberals like anything about our Nation, the way she was founded, or the reasons?  Nope, not too much it seems; just the money and power that they obtain by warping impressionable minds and abusing a system that was set up by more noble people than they.

It's like the new American Way as interpreted by Liberal Lefties requires spewing forth ideologies and ideas that are anti-American.

All of this rhetoric: conservative and American core values are outdated and should be a thing of the pas,t has caused a sharp decline in the number of people with good values, morals, and respect for others.  It used to be: Work hard and you'll live nice, have security, and enjoy life in peace.  Now it's: "Why should I work hard 'cuz they'll give it to me anyway and that's what I deserve, and you're nothing but a racist biggot for believing, let alone mentioning anything different".

But, each time I read parts of the Constitution, the Federalist Papers, or the Declaration of Independence, I get nostalgiac and that's what helps me keep on believing that this is a good country, a bright light in the world.  And, I truly believe that the vast majority of Americans still believe the same thing and that this entitlement attitude/socialist belief is just a propaganda tool used by the left to keep liberals in power for as long as possible.

I do not believe it will last.  I believe that the True Americans, the Patriotic Ponderers will put things back in the correct place by utilizing the single-most effective tool ever created:  The Vote.

We must do all that we can to let our leaders know that we will not support or tolerate such deception.

If We Would Just Listen to the Past

I like American History.  It's inspiring.  I get chill bumps when I watch documentaries depicting George Washington and the fellas crossing the Delaware.  They did what they had to do in order to get the job done.

I wish our leaders today would have that same integrity and drive.  But sadly, they do not.  Some do, most don't.

Here's a few quotes of Thomas Jefferson.  It's really telling, these quotes of his.  If we would only listen to the teachers of the past; they knew what our leaders seem to disregard.

Please, feel free to pass this along in part or whole.  Retweet it, FaceBook it, Link it in, just let people know, remind them.

Thomas Jefferson knew because he was a student of history. He understood what caused governments to fail.

"When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe."

"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."

"It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world."

"My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government."

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms."

"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."

"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

"To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical."

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies.

If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property - until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."

Thanks for reading.
