The Burdens of an Overly Bloated Big Government

My goal in starting a Conservative-minded blog is to just simply voice my opinion in such a way that your everyday, middle class guy or gal can understand and relate to.  I’ll attempt to put it down that will, perhaps, cause my readers to say, “Yeah, that’s how I feel, that’s what I think about it.”  I’ll just write as I see fit and how I think about subjects.  Mainly, the burdens that the bloated Federal, State, County, and City Governments have place on We the People: our small businesses, and our large corporations, and our farms, and our children, and our pets, and our automobiles, and our rifles & pistols, and our marriages, and our parenting, and our light- bulb choices, and our Easy Bake ovens, and our private, home-based Bible studies with friends.  Wait…what? No, you made a typing error, C.D., not Bible studies.

Yes, Bible studies.

Here's a great article from The Blaze written by contributor .  She's terrific, I like her articles.  I'm ashamed of our “Leaders” for even considering that this should be penalized, let alone actually make it so.

That's a really good article, well written and informative.  But what I find even more interesting is the comments afterward.  Read them.

I see opinions like the ones in the comments expressed in print and online more and more lately, even on typically "mainstream" media outlets.  The reason?  I believe the Vast Majority of Americans are sick and tired of our Country being run into the ground by the minority.  That's right: the number of left-wing, socialist-leaning, Average Joe-hating, double-standard observing, Jihadist placaters in our land is in the minority.  There are less of "them" than there are of us.

From BigFurHat in an article posted on iOwntheWorld you can see another fine example of the burden we carry because of an overly bloated big government.

Hasbeen

The really sad thing is that "we" have made this possible.  "We" voted for them, "we" keep them in office, "we" allow them to make up so many, many different rules and regulations that even "they" lose track of them due to the sheer enormity of volume.  There are far too many rules and regulations; it just clogs up life.  You can't hardly get anything done anymore.

How do we change it?  We all know the answer:

Vote.

Vote for candidates that will rein in this insane out-of-control government spending by putting into action common-sense budget solutions that will control spending, cut the massive waste and insist on accountability to the People, instill real transparency, and reduce all government debt by working within the allotted revenues.

Actually doing the above mentioned is not at all difficult.  It is already being done by governors and other leaders in our nation and their constituents are actually seeing results in their communities.

Once again, thanks for reading.  Please take a moment to comment below and another to subscribe.  I could use the feedback and encouragement.  Your participation is appreciated and the sponsors here on the page could use a few click-throughs also.

Have a great day.

Happy Birthday, U.S. Constitution ...and Many More.

Today is the birthday of the U.S. Constitution.  On September 17, 1787 the U.S. Constitution was signed by 39 boldy heroic men.

Just read The Preamble to the Constitution of the United States:
"We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

What a phenomenal beginning to a document that has stood the test of time and has been the go-to model for so many countries that have chosen to take the path that our own country has taken.

It was forged in blood, argument, fortitude, fairness, compromise, love, and neccessity; and it's a good document, for a good nation and a good people.

And I do not care if you do not agree with me. If you do not like our Constitution, or this Great Nation, leave.  Get out, get lost, get *(;%$#!!!

You are not needed here.

Well, please forgive my brief tirade.  It's just that earlier today, I Googled for some commentaries on the Constitution, just to see what folks were saying since today was the anniversary of the signing of the document.  And what I so easily and readily found, even as easily as the links to government and institutional links to the Constitution's history and other information, was a good number of left-wing, socialist-leaning commentaries and articles bashing the Constitution and those that believe in it.  Good grief, don't Liberals like anything about our Nation, the way she was founded, or the reasons?  Nope, not too much it seems; just the money and power that they obtain by warping impressionable minds and abusing a system that was set up by more noble people than they.

It's like the new American Way as interpreted by Liberal Lefties requires spewing forth ideologies and ideas that are anti-American.

All of this rhetoric: conservative and American core values are outdated and should be a thing of the pas,t has caused a sharp decline in the number of people with good values, morals, and respect for others.  It used to be: Work hard and you'll live nice, have security, and enjoy life in peace.  Now it's: "Why should I work hard 'cuz they'll give it to me anyway and that's what I deserve, and you're nothing but a racist biggot for believing, let alone mentioning anything different".

But, each time I read parts of the Constitution, the Federalist Papers, or the Declaration of Independence, I get nostalgiac and that's what helps me keep on believing that this is a good country, a bright light in the world.  And, I truly believe that the vast majority of Americans still believe the same thing and that this entitlement attitude/socialist belief is just a propaganda tool used by the left to keep liberals in power for as long as possible.

I do not believe it will last.  I believe that the True Americans, the Patriotic Ponderers will put things back in the correct place by utilizing the single-most effective tool ever created:  The Vote.

ObamaCare Deception - See this short video!

What an outrage:

We must do all that we can to let our leaders know that we will not support or tolerate such deception.

Vote in 2012!

If We Would Just Listen to the Past

I like American History.  It's inspiring.  I get chill bumps when I watch documentaries depicting George Washington and the fellas crossing the Delaware.  They did what they had to do in order to get the job done.

I wish our leaders today would have that same integrity and drive.  But sadly, they do not.  Some do, most don't.

Here's a few quotes of Thomas Jefferson.  It's really telling, these quotes of his.  If we would only listen to the teachers of the past; they knew what our leaders seem to disregard.

Please, feel free to pass this along in part or whole.  Retweet it, FaceBook it, Link it in, just let people know, remind them.

Thomas Jefferson knew because he was a student of history. He understood what caused governments to fail.

"When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe."

"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."

"It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world."

"My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government."

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms."

"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."

"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

"To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical."

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies.

If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property - until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."
